In 2023, supplies from abroad of arsenic decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2020, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In value terms, arsenic imports shrank markedly to $X in 2023. Overall, imports showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2023, China (X tons) was the main supplier of arsenic to India, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, arsenic imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hong Kong SAR (X tons), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hong Kong SAR (X% per year) and Germany (X% per year).
