From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Tunisia was the key exporter of turkey meat in Africa, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. South Africa (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Morocco (X tons), Namibia (X tons) and Zambia (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Egypt (X tons) and Algeria (X tons) - each recorded a X% share of total exports.
Exports from Tunisia increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Zambia (X%), Namibia (X%), Algeria (X%), Egypt (X%) and Morocco (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Zambia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, South Africa (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Tunisia (X p.p.), Namibia (X p.p.), Morocco (X p.p.), Zambia (X p.p.), Algeria (X p.p.) and Egypt (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of South Africa (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Tunisia ($X), South Africa ($X) and Morocco ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising X% of total exports. Namibia, Zambia, Egypt and Algeria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
Among the main exporting countries, Zambia, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, growing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Morocco ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Zambia (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Benin represented the major importer of turkey meat in Africa, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Ghana (X tons), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons), South Africa (X tons), Gabon (X tons), Guinea (X tons), Equatorial Guinea (X tons) and Congo (X tons), together creating a X% share of total imports. Liberia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to turkey meat imports into Benin stood at X%. At the same time, Democratic Republic of the Congo (X%), Ghana (X%), Guinea (X%), Liberia (X%) and Equatorial Guinea (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Democratic Republic of the Congo emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Gabon and Congo experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
