Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Mica Imports
Imports in Africa
After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of mica decreased by -X% to X tonnes in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tonnes, and then contracted notably in the following year.
In value terms, mica imports dropped markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, posted a notable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
Tanzania (X tonnes), Egypt (X tonnes) and South Africa (X tonnes) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2021. Niger (X tonnes) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Tunisia (X%). The following importers - Algeria (X tonnes), Mauritius (X tonnes), Congo (X tonnes), Angola (X tonnes), Nigeria (X tonnes), Mozambique (X tonnes) and Zambia (X tonnes) - together made up X% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Tanzania (with a CAGR of +X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest mica importing markets in Africa were Egypt ($X), Niger ($X) and Tanzania ($X), together comprising X% of total imports.
