The Chinese mica market surged to $X in 2021, picking up by X% against the previous year. In general, consumption showed a prominent increase. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, mica production surged to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mica exports reduced to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports posted resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The UK (X tonnes), Indonesia (X tonnes) and Vietnam (X tonnes) were the main destinations of mica exports from China, with a combined X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the UK ($X) remains the key foreign market for mica exports from China, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Vietnam ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the UK stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (+X% per year) and Indonesia (+X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average mica export price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per tonne in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into China
In 2021, approx. X tonnes of mica were imported into China; increasing by X% against the year before. Overall, imports posted prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, mica imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
India (X tonnes), Madagascar (X tonnes) and Nigeria (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of mica imports to China, together comprising X% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Nigeria (with a CAGR of +X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of mica to China, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Madagascar ($X), with a X% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from India stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Madagascar (+X% per year) and Nigeria (+X% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average mica import price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
