Trailer and Semi-Trailer Price in Peru (CIF) - 2021

The average trailer and semi-trailer import price stood at $3,247 per unit in April 2020, surging by 9% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2020 to April 2020, it increased at an average monthly rate of +9.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2020 an increase of 20% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in April 2020.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($14,059 per unit), while the price for Mexico ($1,847 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1,019.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Trailer and Semi-Trailer Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average trailer and semi-trailer export price amounted to $4,350 per unit, with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw moderate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 187%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $12,525 per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($18,491 per unit), while the average price for exports to Panama ($1,602 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+31.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Trailer and Semi-Trailer Imports in Peru

In 2022, overseas purchases of cargo trailers and semi-trailers were finally on the rise to reach 1.2K units after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 2.1K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, trailer and semi-trailer imports declined modestly to $14M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 0.3%. Imports peaked at $16M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Trailer and semi-trailer exports from Peru fell significantly to 87 units in 2022, which is down by -36.5% on the year before. Overall, exports continue to indicate a sharp shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 242%. The exports peaked at 228 units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, trailer and semi-trailer exports contracted to $378K in 2022. In general, exports showed a precipitous decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $865K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
