Soups Price in Peru (FOB) - 2021
In April 2020, the average soups export price amounted to $2,575 per ton, rising by 22% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2020 to April 2020, it increased at an average monthly rate of +6.2%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In April 2020, the country with the highest price was Chile ($4,028 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bolivia stood at $2,127 per ton.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Soups Price in Peru (CIF) - 2021
In April 2020, the average soups import price amounted to $2,199 per ton, surging by 11% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2020 an increase of 26% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,447 per ton. From March 2020 to April 2020, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($3,084 per ton), while the price for China ($1,453 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Soups Exports in Peru
In 2022, the amount of soups and broths exported from Peru dropped rapidly to 3.8K tons, waning by -23.8% against 2021. Overall, exports, however, posted a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 91% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 5K tons, and then declined sharply in the following year.
In value terms, soups exports fell sharply to $8M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 88% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $10M, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In 2022, the amount of soups and broths imported into Peru rose modestly to 1.2K tons, surging by 5% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.2K tons; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
In value terms, soups imports contracted to $3.4M in 2022.
