Sleeping Bag Price in Japan (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average sleeping bag import price amounted to $25 per unit, with an increase of 19% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($26 per unit), while the price for Myanmar ($8.9 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sleeping Bag Price in Japan (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average sleeping bag export price amounted to $34 per unit, which is down by -9.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 64%. The export price peaked at $38 per unit in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($34 per unit) and Canada ($34 per unit), while the average price for exports to China ($34 per unit) and South Korea ($34 per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sleeping Bag Imports in Japan

In 2022, purchases abroad of sleeping bags decreased by -11.2% to 1.8M units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +35.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2M units, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, sleeping bag imports expanded markedly to $46M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +80.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
