In June 2023, the average silver jewelry export price amounted to $1.3M per ton, with an increase of 2.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 19% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1.5M per ton in August 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($5.1M per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($754K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average silver jewelry import price amounted to $962K per ton, dropping by -5.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 48% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,499 per kg. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2.1M per ton), while the price for Romania ($748K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the amount of silver jewelry exported from Italy fell to 681 tons, with a decrease of -6.1% against 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
