Shelled Hazelnut Price in Slovenia (CIF) - 2023
The average shelled hazelnut import price stood at $7,477 per ton in September 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 30% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,750 per ton. From August 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($11,454 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($6,655 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Shelled Hazelnut Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average shelled hazelnut export price amounted to $7,193 per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 53%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $15,424 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($15,116 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($7,107 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+27.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Shelled Hazelnut Imports in Slovenia
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of shelled hazelnuts decreased by -31.3% to 416 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 122% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 605 tons, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
In value terms, shelled hazelnut imports dropped markedly to $2.9M in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 98%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $4.5M, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 1,670%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 312 tons, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
