Shampoo Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2021

The average shampoo import price stood at $3,275 per ton in December 2021, increasing by 6.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded mild growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2021 an increase of 28% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,723 per ton. From February 2021 to December 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,774 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($2,152 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Shampoo Price in Malaysia (FOB) - 2021

In December 2021, the average shampoo export price amounted to $2,142 per ton, falling by -11.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2021 when the average export price increased by 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,894 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to December 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($4,098 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brunei Darussalam ($1,032 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Shampoo Imports in Malaysia

In 2022, the amount of shampoos imported into Malaysia reduced modestly to 19K tons, leveling off at 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 3.3%.

In value terms, shampoo imports shrank slightly to $62M in 2022. In general, imports showed a noticeable descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 5.6%.
