Semiconductor Device Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
The average semiconductor device export price stood at $3.6 per unit in 2022, rising by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 90% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $7.9 per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Malaysia ($3.6 per unit) and South Korea ($3.6 per unit), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($3.6 per unit) and Thailand ($3.6 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average semiconductor device import price amounted to $2.1 per unit, declining by -8% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 39%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3.7 per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were the Philippines ($2.1 per unit) and Japan ($2.1 per unit), while the price for Malaysia ($2.1 per unit) and China ($2.1 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malta (-2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Semiconductor Device Exports in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 49M units of semiconductor devices were exported from Singapore; waning by -25% on the year before. In general, exports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 66M units, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, semiconductor device exports reduced markedly to $176M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 49%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $211M, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

Semiconductor device imports into Singapore contracted rapidly to 134M units in 2022, waning by -15.3% compared with the year before. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 158M units, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
In value terms, semiconductor device imports declined sharply to $281M in 2022.
