Pumpkin Price in Finland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average pumpkin import price amounted to $1,650 per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,022 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,608 per ton), while the price for Spain amounted to $1,473 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+1.4%).
Pumpkin Price in Finland (FOB) - 2022
The average pumpkin export price stood at $1,878 per ton in 2022, increasing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 42% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,691 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Estonia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Estonia amounted to -3.5% per year.
Pumpkin Imports in Finland
In 2022, imports of pumpkin (squash and gourds) into Finland shrank to 4.1K tons, which is down by -13.6% against 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep slump. The smallest decline of -2.6% was in 2021.
