Yautia (cocoyam) production in Nicaragua surged to 52K tons in 2022, with an increase of 16% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, production posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 93%. As a result, production attained the peak volume of 59K tons. From 2021 to 2022, (cocoyam) production growth remained at a lower figure. Yautia (cocoyam) output in Nicaragua indicated buoyant growth, which was largely conditioned by a strong increase of the harvested area and a relatively flat trend pattern in yield figures.

From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the yautia (cocoyam) harvested area remained at a somewhat lower figure.
