View PricingPrice Per Can Recycling
Price per can recycling refers to the amount of money that recyclers pay for aluminum cans brought in by individuals, businesses, or organizations. The price per can recycling can vary widely depending on various factors such as location, supply and demand, and market conditions.
Aluminum cans are one of the most commonly recycled materials due to their high value and the ease of the recycling process. The recycling process of aluminum cans involves melting down the cans and then rolling them into sheets to make new cans. It takes only 5% of the energy to produce a recycled aluminum can compared to producing a new can from raw materials.
The current price per can recycling in the United States ranges from 1.7 cents to 10 cents. The prices vary depending upon the state you live in and the demand for aluminum cans in that state. Currently, Michigan has the highest deposit rate for aluminum cans at 10 cents per can.
The price per can recycling also varies depending on the type of aluminum being recycled. Aluminum cans that are clean, dry, and separated from other metals can command a higher price per can recycling than cans that are mixed with other metals, are not clean, or are crushed.
Recycling aluminum cans not only helps to save energy and reduce the environmental impact of the manufacturing process but it also creates jobs in the recycling industry. In fact, it is estimated that for every ton of aluminum cans that is recycled, 95% less energy is needed compared to producing new aluminum cans from raw materials. Additionally, recycling one ton of aluminum cans saves around 40 barrels of oil which would have been used in the manufacturing process.
In conclusion, the price per can recycling varies widely depending on several factors such as location, demand, and market conditions. However, by recycling aluminum cans, we can save energy, reduce environmental impact, and create jobs in the recycling industry.

Throughout this year, global aluminum prices continuously grew and in October 2021 gained 62% compared to October 2020. China's output has decreased due to restrictions on energy usage and halted production at a 300K-ton capacity factory in Yunnan province. As a consequence, the average yearly price in 2022 is projected to rise by 6% y-o-y. Despite rising prices, the U.S., the world´s largest aluminum importer, expanded its purchases by 4.5% against 2020.
Prices for aluminum this year will remain low thanks to the consistent growth in global production of the metal overcoming obstacles caused by the pandemic. In the mid-term, demand for aluminum in the construction sector and car manufacturing is forecast to steadily rise. The rapid development of alternative energy sources will also drive the market up because aluminum is used in the production of solar batteries, wind generators and other components of energy facilities. In China, the launch of quotas on greenhouse gas emissions could lead to higher prices for aluminum as production for the metal in the country leaves a heavy carbon footprint.
