The average import price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds stood at $980 per ton in 2022, surging by 14% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds increased by +33.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 65% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,595 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,816 per ton), while the price for Iran ($414 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 53% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $884 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,536 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($252 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds decreased by -81% to 80 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 123% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 531 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds reduced notably to $79K in 2022. Overall, imports saw a sharp decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 2.2% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $389K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.
