Price for Vegetables, Brassica; Brussel Sprouts, Fresh or Chilled in Qatar (CIF) - 2023

In October 2023, the average import price for vegetables, brassica; brussel sprouts, fresh or chilleds amounted to $207 per ton, declining by -29.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 27% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $495 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Oman ($357 per ton), while the price for Iran ($147 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, approx. 14K tons of vegetables, brassica; brussel sprouts, fresh or chilleds were imported into Qatar; growing by 5.9% compared with the year before. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable decrease.

In value terms, imports of vegetables, brassica; brussel sprouts, fresh or chilleds declined slightly to $4.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 4%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $4.8M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
