The average import price for vegetables, brassica; brussel sprouts, fresh or chilleds stood at $1,503 per ton in 2022, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,546 per ton in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($1,933 per ton), while the price for Italy ($751 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,688 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($699 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (-0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

For the third consecutive year, Lithuania recorded decline in purchases abroad of vegetables, brassica; brussel sprouts, fresh or chilleds, which decreased by -34.9% to 93 tons in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a significant decline. The smallest decline of -3% was in 2020.

In value terms, imports of vegetables, brassica; brussel sprouts, fresh or chilleds contracted markedly to $140K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 7.5%.
