The average import price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron stood at $1,433 per ton in January 2024, dropping by -9.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 93% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,186 per ton. From April 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($2,063 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($1,220 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron stood at $2,490 per ton in 2022, surging by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron increased by +133.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 37% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($3,956 per ton), while the average price for exports to Montenegro ($1,848 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
