In 2022, the average tower and portal cranes import price amounted to $33,236 per unit, which is down by -19.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 82% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $103,440 per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($167,099 per unit), while the price for Denmark ($15,451 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (+19.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price saw a slight expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 when the average export price increased by 122% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $23,045 per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to February 2024.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In February 2024, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($25,785 per unit), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($5,092 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+23.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of tower cranes and portal or pedestal jib cranes into the United States stood at 3.1K units, growing by 8.9% compared with the year before.
