In September 2023, the average import price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds amounted to $164 per ton, dropping by -12.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 18% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $222 per ton. From June 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Estonia ($279 per ton), while the price for Italy ($48.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $193 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
