In November 2023, the average import price for nuts, edible; pistachios, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $19,048 per ton, with an increase of 36% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 an increase of 90% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $23,808 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($19,002 per ton), while the price for the United States ($2,270 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In October 2023, the average export price for nuts, edible; pistachios, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $10,959 per ton, falling by -20.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed tangible growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 68% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $18,267 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($60,722 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($7,918 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
