The average import price for nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $20,070 per ton in 2022, reducing by -50.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 5.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $40,388 per ton, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($29,300 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($18,044 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2016 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In value terms, imports of nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, shelleds skyrocketed to $11K in 2022. Overall, imports saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 197%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
