In 2022, the average import price for nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, in shells amounted to $864 per ton, declining by -55.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price faced a sharp descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 3.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,727 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($3,333 per ton), while the price for China totaled $474 per ton.
From 2015 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+70.9%).
