The average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $6,570 per ton in September 2023, rising by 4.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 25% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $8,896 per ton. From August 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Greece ($7,810 per ton) and Germany ($7,349 per ton), while the price for Italy ($5,544 per ton) and Spain ($5,966 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $8,178 per ton in 2022, which is down by -7.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted tangible growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 225%. The export price peaked at $12,100 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($19,050 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($7,779 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+16.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
