Price for Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Italy (CIF) - 2022

The average non-woven glass fibre articles import price stood at $2,822 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,910 per ton in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($6,311 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($1,139 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Price for Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Italy (FOB) - 2021

The average non-woven glass fibre articles export price stood at $5,809 per ton in November 2021, growing by 2.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 an increase of 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $6,039 per ton in November 2020; however, from December 2020 to November 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In November 2021, the country with the highest price was Austria ($14,833 per ton), while the average price for exports to Albania ($700 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2020 to November 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Italy

In 2022, approx. 18K tons of non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards were imported into Italy; with a decrease of -10.9% against the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 30% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 20K tons, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, non-woven glass fibre articles imports fell to $50M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 37%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $58M, and then reduced in the following year.
