Price for Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Uganda (CIF) - 2022

The average non-mineral or non-aerated water import price stood at $0.6 per litre in 2022, reducing by -7.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-mineral or non-aerated water import price increased by +8.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $0.9 per litre in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United Arab Emirates.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the Netherlands amounted to +16.9% per year.

Price for Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average non-mineral or non-aerated water export price amounted to $0.4 per litre, increasing by 2% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-mineral or non-aerated water export price decreased by -0.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 83%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $0.4 per litre in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Democratic Republic of the Congo.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Democratic Republic of the Congo amounted to +5.1% per year.

Imports of Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Uganda

In 2022, the amount of non-mineral or non-aerated waters imported into Uganda surged to 23K litres, jumping by 49% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 155%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 31K litres. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water imports soared to $15K in 2022. In general, imports recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 166%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $19K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
