Price for Non-Citrus Fruits Not Elsewhere Classified in Germany (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified stood at $2,767 per ton in 2022, increasing by 1.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($5,815 per ton), while the price for Poland ($817 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified stood at $5,164 per ton in July 2023, surging by 6.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified export price increased by +52.6% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 26% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in July 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Maldives ($12,712 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($3,461 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Non-Citrus Fruits Not Elsewhere Classified in Germany

In 2022, supplies from abroad of non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified decreased by -5.1% to 53K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 3.6%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 58K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified imports dropped modestly to $146M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 7.7%.
