In July 2023, the average export price for meat of sheep or goats; fresh, chilled or frozen amounted to $7,880 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 5.9% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $8,658 per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Kuwait ($8,494 per ton) and Qatar ($8,371 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($7,651 per ton) and Bahrain ($7,832 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
