Overall, the global lamb and sheep meat consumption indicated a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, was relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total consumption volume increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014, when the output figure increased by +X% from the previous year level. In that year, the global lamb and sheep meat consumption attained its maximum volume of X thousand tonnes, leveling off in the following year.

Moreover, lamb and sheep meat consumption in China surpassed the figures recorded by Australia threefold. The highest levels of lamb and sheep meat per capita consumption was registered in New Zealand (X kg/year), followed by Australia (X kg/year), Sudan (former) (X kg/year), Turkey (X kg/year) and China (X kg/year), while the average per capita consumption of lamb and sheep meat was estimated at X kg/year in 2015.
In Sudan (former), per capita lamb and sheep meat consumption has grown noticably (+X% per year) in recent years. In 2015, Sudan (former) per capita consumption reached X kg/year as compared with X kg/year in 2007.
