In January 2024, the average import price for glass fibres (including glass wool) and articles thereof (eg yarn, woven fabrics) amounted to $1,785 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,144 per ton. From November 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($4,081 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($1,239 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,452 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($3,765 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($1,192 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
