Price for Glass Fibres and Wool in the UK (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average glass fibres and wool import price amounted to $5,644 per ton, with an increase of 4.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 88%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $10,197 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($10,408 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($2,345 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price continues to indicate pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.6% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
