Price for Glass Fibre Chopped Strand in China (FOB) - 2023
The average glass fibre chopped strand export price stood at $734 per ton in August 2023, waning by -9.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 1.9% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,153 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,010 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($79.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (-1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average glass fibre chopped strand import price stood at $1,427 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -22.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 54% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,263 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($2,435 per ton), while the price for the United States ($894 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
