Price for Dissolving Grade Wood Pulp in France (FOB) - 2023

The average dissolving grade wood pulp export price stood at $1,736 per ton in August 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 5.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,787 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Sweden ($2,129 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($2,022 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($1,623 per ton) and Belgium ($1,740 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average dissolving grade wood pulp import price stood at $1,749 per ton in August 2023, increasing by 9.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $1,830 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,818 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,720 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Dissolving Grade Wood Pulp in France

In 2022, exports of dissolving grade wood pulp from France contracted slightly to 105K tons, with a decrease of -2.8% against the previous year's figure.
