Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +96.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Germany (-11.5%) and Hong Kong SAR (-13.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Philippines (+11 p.p.), the Netherlands (+5.1 p.p.) and Thailand (+4.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of Hong Kong SAR (-5.1 p.p.) and China (-15.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest calculator supplier worldwide, comprising 37% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Philippines ($X), with a 12% share of global exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 12% share.
In China, calculator exports shrank by an average annual rate of -8.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Philippines (-0.5% per year) and the Netherlands (+19.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average calculator export price amounted to $X per unit, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 13%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Hong Kong SAR, the Netherlands, China, Japan, the UK, India, Russia, Mexico and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.
Among the main importing countries, China, with a CAGR of +49.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average calculator import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -3.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 8.6%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020, and then declined slightly in the following year.
