The average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $2,800 per ton in October 2023, with an increase of 14% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in October 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Australia ($3,291 per ton), while the price for the Philippines ($1,526 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $2,847 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Macao SAR ($2,742 per ton), while the average price for exports to China amounted to $2,618 per ton.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.6%).
