The average import price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals stood at $11,248 per ton in 2022, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 40% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $14,831 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($17,617 per ton), while the price for China ($7,411 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals stood at $15,487 per ton in October 2023, with an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 28% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in October 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($25,429 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($8,172 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of cutlery; other than plated with precious metals, when their volume increased by 20% to 402 tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt downturn.
