In 2022, the average import price for cotton; sewing thread, put up for retail sale amounted to $2,841 per ton, declining by -16.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 83% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,387 per ton, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
