By contrast, the U.S. (-X%) and Italy (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2020, the share of Guatemala, Myanmar, Nigeria and the Dominican Republic increased by +X%, +X%, +X% and +X% percentage points, while the U.S. (-X p.p.) and Italy (-X p.p.) saw their share reduced. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The average cotton sewing thread import price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, waning by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
