Price for Cereals; Grain Sorghum, Seed in Egypt (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average cereals; grain sorghum, seed export price amounted to $1,871 per ton, picking up by 21% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 198%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $3,116 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($2,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kenya ($1,818 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
