Price for Calendar and Calendar Block in Portugal (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average calendar and calendar block import price amounted to $3,627 per ton, with a decrease of -43.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 99% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $20,834 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($6,417 per ton), while the price for China ($2,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average calendar and calendar block export price stood at $16,447 per ton in 2022, declining by -31.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a notable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 80%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $23,946 per ton, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($44,093 per ton), while the average price for exports to Benin ($3,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+66.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Calendar and Calendar Block in Portugal
In 2022, supplies from abroad of calendars and calendar blocks was finally on the rise to reach 68 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, saw a drastic downturn.
