Price for Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022
In March 2022, the average aluminium waste and scrap import price amounted to $2,035 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 an increase of 5.3% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,050 per ton in February 2022, and then fell slightly in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,547 per ton) and Singapore ($2,449 per ton), while the price for Germany ($1,805 per ton) and the UK ($1,817 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022
In March 2022, the average aluminium waste and scrap export price amounted to $2,089 per ton, increasing by 12% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from March 2021 to March 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2022 figures, aluminium waste and scrap export price increased by +59.6% against December 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2021 when the average export price increased by 60% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,220 per ton. From December 2021 to March 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($5,200 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($1,694 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+30.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Indonesia
In 2022, imports of aluminium waste and scraps into Indonesia reduced to 161K tons, which is down by -6.6% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 172K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, aluminium waste and scrap imports dropped to $167M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 11% against the previous year.

Exports of Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Indonesia
In 2022, overseas shipments of aluminium waste and scraps were finally on the rise to reach 12K tons after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decrease.
In value terms, aluminium waste and scrap exports contracted slightly to $15M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 9.8% against the previous year.
