In October 2023, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $1,326 per ton, with a decrease of -3.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 19% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,502 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($3,301 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($511 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $627 per ton, with a decrease of -35.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 58% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,608 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Kenya ($5,013 per ton), while the price for the UK ($223 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds from the Netherlands expanded slightly to 265K tons in 2022, rising by 4% compared with 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $281M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 8.1%.
