In 2022, the average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $3,450 per ton, picking up by 12% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 98%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $3,512 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,622 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1,141 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $759 per ton in 2022, declining by -13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 96% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $873 per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Haiti ($1,738 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($65 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Haiti (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Overall, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +80.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 32%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
