The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $1,057 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -23.9% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 20% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,388 per ton in August 2023, and then dropped rapidly in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($3,080 per ton), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($431 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $968 per ton, waning by -15.7% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 29% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,149 per ton in 2021, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($1,420 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($561 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 8.7K tons of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds were imported into Slovenia; waning by -6.3% on 2021. Overall, imports saw a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 1.5% against the previous year.

In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds shrank to $7.7M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 4%.

From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
