The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $1,573 per ton in December 2022, waning by -3.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when the average import price increased by 4.6% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,645 per ton in August 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2022.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices from Spain ($1,721 per ton) and Jordan ($1,624 per ton), while the price for Luxembourg ($1,390 per ton) and Qatar ($1,486 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Luxembourg (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $178 per ton, with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 32%. The export price peaked at $581 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($1,348 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($131 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+17.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, approx. 33K tons of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds were imported into Oman; jumping by 42% compared with the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds surged to $7.4M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +25.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +99.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 81%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
