In October 2023, the average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $868 per ton, waning by -43.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 74% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,516 per ton. From July 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Albania ($1,139 per ton), while the price for Turkey totaled $846 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Albania (+20.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $3,274 per ton, rising by 34% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 67% month-to-month. The export price peaked in October 2023.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the Czech Republic amounted to +13.3% per month.

In 2022, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds into Hungary was estimated at 26K tons, with an increase of 4.3% on 2021 figures. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +58.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds rose rapidly to $22M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 8.1% against the previous year.

In 2022, overseas shipments of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds decreased by -2.1% to 6K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 286%.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds dropped to $6.9M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $7M, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
