Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 54% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,497 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for France amounted to +9.1% per month.

Overall, the export price showed a moderate expansion. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Niger ($2,466 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,125 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Niger (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
