The average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $3,400 per ton in December 2023, dropping by -8.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 when the average export price increased by 25% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $4,465 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Fiji ($6,472 per ton), while the average price for exports to Papua New Guinea ($1,908 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to New Caledonia (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
