In 2022, the average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $1,062 per ton, picking up by 2.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 61% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,891 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,747 per ton), while the price for Italy ($295 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $1,398 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -3.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a pronounced reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 65%. The export price peaked at $2,362 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,950 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($263 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cyprus (+95.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds decreased by -11.1% to 94 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +67.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 46% against the previous year.
In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds reduced to $100K in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +10.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 22%.
