In March 2022, the average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $4,357 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 an increase of 7.1% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in March 2022.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In March 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Taiwan (Chinese) ($5,610 per ton) and the United States ($4,299 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($4,025 per ton) and Australia ($4,086 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In March 2022, the average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $2,777 per ton, reducing by -7.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2021 an increase of 25% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,469 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to March 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($4,918 per ton), while the price for China ($2,257 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Aluminium; Alloys, Bars, Rods and Profiles, Other than Hollow in Indonesia
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows decreased by -17.7% to 40K tons in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +32.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 31%.

Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +19.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +70.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 43%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
